Our extensive product range and total project service is only the beginning of our story. Because there are times when your specification goes beyond any standard product solution. Then there are times when you’ve designed unique spaces, that require specialised product performance to meet industry lighting guides and standards. This could be a simple change to the dimensions or to the light source technology. And as cost is always a consideration, bespoke solutions can be developed to provide value-engineered solutions to meet your aesthetic and performance targets.

Standard process, special solutions

Our bespoke products cover everything from completely bespoke luminaires, to match the aesthetics of a building, to solutions to meet your different lighting, power, or size requirements. We can also adapt existing products to provide them, for example, in different colours, materials and sizes. In short, we can deliver a bespoke solution whatever your requirement. Designing, building, testing and manufacturing to meet your exact specifications. However, a bespoke solution doesn’t mean there needs to be a complicated process to deliver it. We have developed a clear route map, from initial enquiry to full production, taking in feasibility, quotations, sales sketches, customer samples, in house testing and on-site installation

5 Stages from Start to Finish

The process to produce custom made solutions, to meet your bespoke specifications, is simple and straightforward.

  • In line with our collaborative approach, defining the brief is a joint effort. Once you’ve made an enquiry to your local salesperson, it’s communicated to the Custom Made design team. They then take the process from there, by making direct contact with you to work on defining the brief. This ensures you have input and control from the start of the process.
  • The second stage of the process is to translate the brief into design sketches, to make sure the brief is fully understood and can be developed into the required product solution. It’s at this stage that you’ll receive a quotation for your approval.
  • The all-important third stage refines the product solution before we go into production. We do this by producing physical samples, based on the design brief and the sketches we’ve produced. All luminaires are tested in our lab and sometimes an on-site installation sample area is produced.
  • After we have validated the design and it has received your approval, we move onto the production stage. We finalise the design, source the materials from the UK, whenever possible, and proceed to manufacture. The process is, as a result, fast, low risk and has a lower carbon footprint.
  • If you have any issues or questions after you have received delivery, we will provide you with all the support you need. In addition, we can visit you to provide on-site support if necessary.
