Smart lighting that manages itself from day one.

Every Whitecroft luminaire with an intelligent Organic Response sensor is ready to connect out-of-the-box. Once powered on, each unit communicates wirelessly to create a self-organising network.

1. Sense

Continuously monitors real-time foot traffic and natural daylight.

2. Decide

Makes autonomous decisions instantly without a central hub.

3. Act & Adapt

Dynamically adjusts light levels, flags faults, and responds as your space evolves.

Traditional building challenges

  • Vacant lighting wastes 30–35% of electricity.
  • Manual emergency testing drains staff time.
  • Hardwired installations are expensive and disruptive.
  • Unencrypted legacy protocols invite cyberattacks.
  • Vendor lock-in creates data silos.

The smart services solution

  • Optimise room utilisation and eliminate wasted energy across your portfolio by leveraging real-time traffic analytics and peak density tracking.
  • Eliminate manual site walks and stay safely compliant through remote emergency lighting tests, instant fault alerts, and predictive diagnostics.
  • Smooth your path to BREEAM, LEED, and WELL certifications using granular, circuit-level Part L energy reporting that proves your sustainability progress.
  • Eliminate budget surprises with one fixed price that covers setup, asset monitoring, maintenance, and an on-site warranty for total peace of mind.
  • Keep full control of your system with seamless, two-way BMS/IoT integration (BACnet, DALI-2, RESTful APIs), fully protected by ISO 27001, RED, and NIS2-ready cloud security.

Foundational wireless control that delivers instant energy efficiency, total floor-plate flexibility, and out of the box simplicity.

Smart Lighting Controls: Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a "Centre-Managed" service vs a "Self-Managed" system?

With a Centre-Managed system (SmartLight and SmartInsight), our central team remotely monitors your lighting system’s health, tracks performance, and captures compliance data for you. If you ever choose to opt out of the managed service, the system safely reverts to a "Self-Managed" state where you control the portal locally.

  • What happens during the allotted Annual Health Check?

The Annual Health Check is a scheduled, face-to-face partner touchpoint. Our specialists inspect your system's overall health, review performance metrics, and optimise your lighting behaviours to match how your team's needs have evolved over the year.

  • How does Centralised Compliance save money over the life of the building?

Traditionally, running mandatory monthly emergency lighting tests and gathering Part L energy data requires hands-on manual labour, on-site servers, or expensive third-party FM call-outs. Centralised Compliance automates this entire process safely via the cloud, drastically reducing the whole-life operational cost of your estate.

  • Is Whitecroft's Organic Response smart building integration open or proprietary?

We believe in a truly connected ecosystem. Our smart building integration uses completely Open API and BACnet protocols. This ensures our lighting components integrate seamlessly with your preferred heating, ventilation, security, and air conditioning services without trapping you in a closed system.

Lets make your building smarter

Whether you want to lower whole-life building costs, automate compliance and emergency testing, upgrade an existing facility, or something else, our experts are on hand to help.
