Whitecroft Lighting has been awarded the 2026 iF Design Award for its Geopak™ solution in the Service, System and Process Design category, one of the world’s most respected international design accolades.

What Makes Geopak™ Award-Winning,

Geopak™, a smart, reusable packaging and product-tracking system, was recognised in the Service, System and Process Design category, standing out among more than 10,000 entries from across 68 countries.

The iF Design Award judges praised the system's two key benefits:

  1. Enhancing product traceability and site efficiency through geolocation technology, providing geofenced deliveries to predefined zones and automating collection post-install, with complete end-to-end asset tracking to reduce the risk of misplaced shipments.
  2. Cutting waste at scale with a reusable solution designed to eliminate tonnes of single-use packaging in the coming years, utilising durable, collapsable totes to transport materials repeatedly.

Proven Impact and Industry Collaboration,

Since its launch in 2024, Geopak™ has already delivered measurable impact. Geopak has already been successfully deployed In partnership with leading contractors such as Balfour Beatty, with its first implementation at Fife College in Scotland saving two tonnes of packaging waste and £6,000 in waste management costs.

The UK construction sector generates over 117.5 million tonnes of waste annually, with 26%-34% coming from packaging alone. Geopak is actively tackling this problem as the system is estimated to prevent 100,000 cardboard boxes from entering the construction supply chain over the next two years alone.

Matt Paskin, Solutions and Marketing Director said:

“Winning one of the world’s most prestigious design awards is an enormous achievement for our team. Geopak™ represents a step beyond lighting, showcasing how we are innovating across the supply chain to deliver real value. We believe its potential will extend far beyond our sector, supporting a more efficient and sustainable industry.”

Developed in collaboration with Cardiff University and PDR, Geopak™ reinforces our commitment to circular design and continuous innovation to create a more circular environment for all.
