At Whitecroft, we believe in the power of potential, in people who are curious, ambitious, and ready to grow. Our apprentices represent the next generation of innovators, bringing fresh ideas and energy that help shape not only the future of Whitecroft but also drive value to the industry.
We’re proud to nurture the ambition that drives our apprentices forward, championing every opportunity for learning, development, and hands-on experience. Through continued education and real-world challenges, we empower them to grow, innovate, and make a meaningful impact on both their future and ours.
We took a moment to celebrate the incredible achievements of our apprentices, recognising their progress, reflecting on their journeys, and sharing a glimpse of what’s next. Together with their line managers, our Learning and Development team, and dedicated skills coaches, we reviewed the milestones of the past year to honour those who have gone above and beyond. From this review, we determined our Apprentice of the Year, an individual who truly embodies innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Introducing this year’s winner: Josh Edisbury. Josh, a Maintenance Engineer undertaking a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship, is nearing the completion of his end-point assessment and will soon step into a technical engineering role.
One of Josh’s most impactful achievements was the design and implementation of a new welding station on the factory floor. Previously, the welding areas occupied excessive space and were scattered in a way that disrupted workflow. Recognising this inefficiency, Josh drew on the knowledge and skills gained during his apprenticeship to deliver a thoughtful redesign. His new layout consolidated the stations into multiple booths within a dedicated area, enhancing both safety and productivity. By positioning the welding station closer to the primary production line, home to the automated punch and fold machines, and near optimal ventilation, Josh significantly improved efficiency and working conditions. His work has elevated comfort for the team and boosted the factory’s overall performance, a true example of innovation in action.
As we celebrate Josh’s success, we also look forward to welcoming our next wave of apprentices. This group will include individuals entering the workforce for the first time as well as those looking to upskill and enhance their existing abilities. Each apprentice will bring fresh perspectives, ideas, and ambition, contributing to our shared progress while building their own skills and careers.
At Whitecroft, an apprenticeship is not just the beginning of a career; it’s the start of a journey, one that leads to growth and innovation, fuelled by our core values: Curious Creators, Committed Together, Aim Higher.
