Lancaster University Library

An ambitious refurbishment project, Lancaster University’s East Building, dating from 1967, was stripped back to its structural concrete frame and completely remodelled. The new building offers a flexible, technology rich environment with both individual and group workspaces that support different learning styles. Natural daylight is maximised wherever possible, and our Avenue LED luminaire provides the additional library lighting throughout the building. This simple linear aesthetic perfectly complements the lines of acoustic ceiling tiles used extensively throughout the building and creates visual linkage between the different spaces.

The resulting project has been awarded a BREEAM rating of excellent.
