The Alan Walters Building for the University of Birmingham provides high quality specialist teaching spaces that include two lecture theatres, a mock trading room, informal learning spaces and supporting offices.

The design creates a high quality open, collaborative environment to support learning and development. Integral to this is the central social space, arranged over three floors through the heart of the building. All functional spaces open into this central space, to strengthen the sense of community.

Avenue LED luminaires and Mirage LED downlighters are used extensively throughout the building, adding to the visual cohesion of the project.

The building was awarded the prestigious RIBA West Midlands Regional Award 2017.
